We are looking for a VP of Platform Engineering to join our dynamic and growing Engineering team!

Responsibilities

Cloud modernization & platform evolution

  • Own the strategy and execution for cloud modernization, including re-platforming legacy systems, standardizing deployment patterns, and improving scalability and resilience.
  • Build and evolve core platform capabilities such as CI/CD, infrastructure automation, environment management, and service tooling.
  • Drive architectural consistency across a growing B2B SaaS platform while enabling team autonomy.

Create and scale a Shared Services team

  • Establish and lead a Shared Services engineering team responsible for foundational platform services, with initial focus on identity, authentication, and authorization.
  • Define clear ownership boundaries between shared services and application teams, emphasizing enablement over control.
  • Partner closely with product and application engineering teams to drive adoption of shared services through strong APIs, documentation, tooling, and developer experience.
  • Treat shared services as internal products: define roadmaps, SLAs, reliability expectations, and success metrics.
  • Balance standardization with flexibility to ensure shared services accelerate—not slow—product development.

Build an SRE culture

  • Establish reliability engineering practices including SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, incident response, postmortems, and capacity planning.
  • Improve observability and operational readiness through monitoring, alerting, tracing, and runbooks.
  • Work with application teams to improve operability, resilience, and production readiness through better design patterns and automation.

Leadership & org building

  • Lead and grow teams across platform engineering, shared services, and DevOps/SRE.
  • Build a performance-oriented culture rooted in learning, coaching, and accountability.
  • Define and track platform success metrics such as reliability, developer satisfaction, delivery speed, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Architecture leadership to align platform investments with business outcomes.

About You:

Leadership & experience

  • 10+ years of experience building and leading platform engineering teams in modern B2B SaaS environments.
  • Proven success leading leaders (engineering managers, staff/principal engineers).
  • Strong ability to drive cross-team adoption of shared platforms and services through influence and collaboration.

Platform & architecture depth

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and operating production SaaS systems at scale.
  • Experience building shared services or platform teams (identity, auth, platform APIs, infrastructure services).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and internal developer platforms.

Reliability & operational excellence

  • Demonstrated experience establishing SRE practices and improving reliability outcomes.
  • Comfort owning operational maturity, on-call models, and incident management processes.

Nice to have

  • Experience modernizing identity and authentication systems (SSO, OAuth/OIDC, RBAC/ABAC).
  • Background in platform product management or internal tooling.
  • FinOps or cloud cost-optimization experience.
