The Job

The Partner Alliance Senior Program Manager spearheads Tango’s partnership development, aiming to equip Tango's customers with an influential program managed open loop solution to realize our strategic vision. This role encompasses the task of identifying and building alliances with suppliers, tech allies, banks, and processors both domestically and globally. Collaboration with departments such as Product, Compliance, Finance, and Legal is essential to determine whether to buy or build program management functionalities. Decision-making in this role is grounded in data and analytics to achieve strategic aims and foster revenue growth.

This expert will take charge of the program managed open loop solution, liaising with various leaders and teams at Tango. The objective is to exceed expectations in delivering robust, innovative offerings timely and ensuring usability for all parties involved. The ideal hire will drive major growth projects, exude enthusiasm, exhibit a strategic and proactive mindset, be detail-oriented, produce top-notch results, and guide team members.

Reports To: Vice President, Open Loop and Next Generation

As a Senior Program Manager at Tango, you will:

  • Pioneer Tango’s open loop framework development by harnessing industry know-how and connections.
  • Offer insights to principal stakeholders about industry trends, emerging products, service providers, reward content, and regulatory changes.
  • Design and implement a unique Program Management approach, encompassing facets like breakage assessment, compliance, and analytics.
  • Champion Open Loop products to elevate customer experiences and boost Tango's revenue.
  • Shape and back Tango’s course of action for an Open Loop solution, aligning with customer demands.
  • Advocate for Open Loop partnerships, nurturing relationships with domestic and global providers, and deciding between building or buying in tandem with Product.
  • Act as a reliable consultant for customers and an asset to Tango's Sales and Customer Success departments.
  • Refine the managed solution for Tango's and customers' benefit.
  • Voice internal perspectives on our content, products, and partnerships.
  • Forge robust ties across all Tango sectors.
  • Set guidelines for Open Loop program success, collaborating to ensure adherence.
  • Share insights from data about our open loop entities and managed solutions.
  • Engage deeply in compliance and financial aspects related to program management.
  • Mentor emerging members of the Open Loop partnerships team.
  • Lead in the crafting of business plans, strategic roadmaps, and market entry strategies.
  • Utilize industry acumen about consumer patterns and market gaps to steer Tango's vision.
  • Deliver results to the VP of Open Loop & Next Gen Partnerships.
  • Undertake any other relevant tasks.

To be effective in our Senior Program Manager role, you must have:

  • Proficient in communication, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability in persuading and gaining ideas or plan acceptance.
  • Aptitude for examining alternatives to achieve desired results.
  • Skilled in fostering a diverse, skilled, and unified team.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
  • 8+ years in fintech.
  • 4+ years in Program Management.
  • Proven track record in strategy formulation and new product introduction, including partner alliances.
  • Familiarity with API basics and integration.
  • Deep comprehension of Open Loop and Program Management.
  • Success in roles impacting company expansion and revenue.

Our ideal Senior Program Manager will also have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in the gift card, pre-paid, or incentives sector.
  • Proven ability to introduce new processes/products and gain internal consensus.
  • Experience in supporting product, sales, and customer success functions.
  • Experience liaising with legal and compliance departments.

Salary: The targeted pay range for this position is between $120,000 - $135,000. Please note that the actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonus.

Tango has a flexible work policy, allowing most employees to work from home, in our Seattle office, or in a hybrid format. We are currently set up to employ people in most states, but there are a few where we aren't able to operate yet.
