This position may be performed remotely anywhere within the United States except for the State of Alaska, North Dakota, or South Dakota. Employees located within 50 miles of a BHN office will be considered a "Hybrid" employee and are required to come into the office 2 days per week based on office schedule.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Infrastructure Engineer to join our Platform Operations team. This role combines deep technical expertise in managed file transfer solutions and enterprise job scheduling with leadership capabilities to mentor teams and drive infrastructure excellence. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and external clients, ensuring seamless, secure, and compliant file transfer operations across our enterprise ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions and enterprise Job Scheduling platforms including Tidal Workflow Automation, SecureTransport, MOVEit, and HULFT
- Design, implement, and maintain network file transfer connections across multiple protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2, S3)
- Troubleshoot complex file transfer challenges including protocol-specific issues, certificate management, and firewall rules
- Interpret customer and internal requirements, translating technical specifications into actionable solutions
- Present Blackhawk's file transfer solutions clearly to internal stakeholders and external clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams (Infrastructure Engineering, Architecture, internal/external stakeholders, Application Engineering) to deliver agreed-upon solutions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory directives including Sarbanes-Oxley, privacy legislation, and PCI standards
- Provide training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to team members
- Participate in on-call support rotation to ensure 24/7 operational stability
- Leverage modern cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud) to design and deploy resilient infrastructure
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, Python, Kafka, and Airflow
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure provisioning
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of enterprise-level IT infrastructure experience with progressive responsibility
- Expert-level knowledge of Managed File Transfer solutions
- Proficiency with enterprise Job Scheduling platforms
- Deep understanding of file transfer protocols: SFTP (SSH), FTPS (SSL), HTTPS, AS2, and S3
- Strong experience with Server Administration
- Database query experience and log analysis capabilities
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in Cloud Platform such as AWS
- Proven troubleshooting methodology with systematic problem-solving approach
Preferred Skills
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Certificate management
- Experience mentoring technical team members and driving knowledge sharing
- Familiarity with ITIL methodology, Change Management, and Queue Management standards
- Familiarity with observability tools like New Relic and Splunk
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience with compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI-DSS, privacy regulations)
- Background managing vendor relationships and platform governance

Benefits:
Salary Range for all U.S. Residents (excluding Alaska, California, North Dakota, South Dakota): $105,770.00 to $142,800.00
Salary Range for California Residents Only:$133,920.00 to $180,800.00
