Responsibilities
- Equip, inspire, and lead team members to realize Altoida’s vision, strategic goals, and project deliverables, ensuring teams have clear priorities and adequate resources.
- Lead the strategy and design for the ongoing evolution of our software platform architecture.
- Review current and new system designs to strengthen our platform’s extensibility, resiliency, scalability, and security.
- Manage geographically distributed, remotely based team members and contractors.
- Work closely with Product teams to refine, prioritize, and deliver new product features.
- Facilitate rapid iterations to architect and deliver solutions that scale.
- Ensure adherence to design controls and continuous improvement practices, as required to meet quality and market imperatives.
- Manage and report progress of development, quality, operations, and system performance.
- Lead the development of tools to improve solution deployment and to effectively monitor software applications in AWS environment.
- Lead the planning and execution of procurement / outsourcing initiatives to expand organizational capacity and effectiveness in alignment with architectural plans and Quality System.
- BS degree in Computer Science; MBA/MS desired.
- At least 10 years of experience in software engineering roles with additional 5 – 7 years’ experience managing software teams.
- Product development in an FDA regulated environment (e.g., SaMD/SiMD, medical diagnostics, healthcare), familiar with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.
- Mobile (iOS) and web application design & development, including Swift, node.js , React, TypeScript; SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake), AWS, Docker.
- Demonstrated experience with Scrum and other Agile methodologies, and ability to mentor others in their use.
- Deep understanding of modern deployment and development infrastructure (CI/CD, unit and end-to-end testing, and cloud/enterprise deployment).
- Experience with production workloads in an AWS cloud environment with an understanding of the core AWS services required (EC2, VPC, IAM).
- Strong communication and presentation skills to deliver relevant and effective information to the Board, executives, and associates.
- Proactive mindset to drive change, question assumptions and push for innovative solutions.
- Strong organizational skills.
